Eat well, move more.

It seems you can’t switch on the tv, your phone or open a magazine these days without being hit by advice for maintaining “health and wellbeing”. But the truth is that our lifestyles are taking their toll on our physical and mental health.

Ok so we started the year with great plans – we went on a diet to lose that extra weight we put on over Christmas and we were planning to exercise more so we all joined the gym, but for many of us that’s as far as we got! We exercised our brains with all the great intentions!

For others, we started off well but by March we’re waning – it’s so hard to keep it up on these cold, wet, dark evenings! And we’ve had the Nurses and Midwives Strike to distract us.

We really should be taking more decisive action to look after ourselves, especially those working in the care sector. Nurses, midwives, dentists, vets and pharmacists are all so busy running around looking after everyone else. But you should stop and think, who would do what you do, if you weren’t there?! We owe it to our loved ones and to ourselves to start looking after #1!

So, it’s now time for your St. Patrick’s Day Resolutions!

Make March the month you really get moving; walk the dog, go for a run, join the gym, take up pilates, or just dance around the living room with the kids! Better still, keep life interesting and do a bit of everything!

It’s time to start looking after you!

You’re more likely to succeed if you keep it simple – just remember “eat well, move more, think positive, feel amazing!”
